Aveda creates a Modern Look for New York Fashion Week
Aveda lead stylist Antoinette Beenders created a strong, modern braided chignon using Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Style-Prep Smoother, Aveda Air Control™ Hair Spray, and Aveda Control Force™ Firm Hold Hair Spray at the Sophie Théallet Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Week presentation in New York.
“The Sophie Théallet hair look for this season is strong and chic—with a polished, sensual sensibility to reflect the soft linen fabric in this season’s collection. Inspired by strong, confident women, the sides of the hair are clean and smoothed back. A twisted braid adds height and drama.”
How To Get The Look:
1. Prep damp hair with Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Style-Prep Smoother™ for smoothness. Use a fine-tooth comb to create a clean center part and then blow dry straight using a Mason Pearson brush.
2. Brush hair back tightly and secure into a high ponytail below the crown—at the back of the head—using an elastic. Spray with Aveda Air Control™ Hair Spray for shine and light hold.
3. Braid the ponytail. Gently massage braid with fingers for texture and spray with Aveda Control Force™ Firm Hold Hair Spray for maximum hold.
4. Attach a black taffeta headband around the base of the braid, at the crown of the head, and secure with hairpins.
5. Fold the braid in half and loop upward to create a vertical, braided chignon. Secure against the head with hairpins. Set the look with Aveda Control Force™ Firm Hold Hair Spray.

Napoleon Perdis storms New York Fashion Week
He conquered Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in May and today he’s taking Manhattan. Ably assisted by his team of Australian creative artists, Napoleon Perdis is directing the makeup for six shows at the prestigious New York Fashion Week. The schedule consists of:
• Kaelen (11.30am, Saturday 11th September) Shown Above.
• Venexiana (9pm, Saturday 11th September)
• Elise Overland (2pm, Sunday 12th September)
• Walter (6.30pm, Sunday 12th September)
• W. Tempest (8.30am, Monday 13th September)
• LaQuan (1pm, Wednesday 15th September)
Each designer has entrusted Napoleon Perdi to execute a gorgeous runway look, which will be scrutinised by the leading media outlets, editors and retailers from around the world who gather in New York each season for the biannual shows. Perdis is supported by seven of his International Creative Artists, including Kate Squires, who have travelled to New York from Australia for the occasion. It’s been a busy two months for the local makeup team, having created runway glamour at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival and Melbourne Spring Fashion Week before jetting off to the fashion capital of New York.
“For me the New York shows are about collaborating with a mix of veteran and up-and-coming designers and we are thrilled to be involved with all six of these fashion lines,” says Perdis, who made his debut at New York Fashion Week last season with four shows. “They align our brand with the cream of US fashion and underscore our core message of runway to reality. And, of course, they allow for some creative, fashion-fuelled makeup explorations, too. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off our 15th anniversary celebrations this month.”

St Tropez 3D Tan
This summer tanning is even sexier and more defined! The St. Tropez 3D tan ensures your body looks sexy, streamlined and contoured – and can be done at home! The St. Tropez 3D tan was originally used at London Fashion Week S/S 2010 for the Louise Goldin show. These simple tips and tricks from St. Tropez’s Mel Sdao will have your body looking HOT all summer long.
3D Tanning HOW TO with Mel Sdao:
• You start working on your 3D tan after applying your normal tanning product (St. Tropez Self-Tan Mousse or St.Tropez Wash-Off Lotion) and it has developed.
• Apply St. Tropez Wash Off Shimmer Stick to the area/s that you want to accentuate eg. cheekbones, jaw line, décolletage, arms, abs or legs. This will give that area the appearance of a more defined look.
• Start off lightly and then gradually build up colour. Be careful not to use too much.
Accentuate your best features with St. Tropez:
• Legs: For the illusion of longer healthy legs, apply the Wash Off Shimmer Stick to the front of the shins only, apply this product down the shins and let it work its magic.
• Muscles: For more defined look of muscle tone, apply product to the outskirts of the muscle on each side. Don’t colour the whole muscle in - you just want to accentuate its natural formation.
• Décolletage: Highlight by applying a little St Tropez Bronzing Powder to the clavicle bones. Enhance your cleavage by dusting a little bronzer in between your breasts and even a little on top of your bra line.

Trilogy Supports the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation
We share 97% of our DNA with Orangutans, but they are rapidly heading towards extinction due to habitat destruction.
Trilogy’s ongoing campaign to help endangered Orangutans in South East Asia was launched last year and has received enormous public support.
In 2009 Trilogy raised $20,000* for the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, the world’s largest organgutan rescue sanctuary, through sales of limited edition boxes of Certified Organic Rosehip Oil.
This September Trilogy will again be donating $1.00* from the sale of each specially marked box of Certified Organic Rosehip Oil to the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation. This campaign will run throughout Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Increased demand for paper products and palm oil has lead to the deforestation of rainforests in South East Asia. Due to the loss of their natural habitat, the survival of Orangutans is under threat. The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation actively rescues and rehabilitates wild orangutans from oil plantations and releases them into wild, protected rainforest habitats.
This cause means a great deal to Trilogy and we appreciate your support.
