The Fragrance Foundation raises over $16,000 for Charity Look Good... Feel Better



Parfums Gourmands, the Fragrance Foundation of Australia’s annual end of year gala dinner, last week raised over $16,000 in its live auction and raffle for the cancer patient’s charity, Look Good…Feel Better.

Held on Thursday 18th November at the multi-awarded and three-hatted restaurant est., the 2010 Parfums Gourmands was a celebration of fragrant wine and food, with a three course degustation menu created by head chef Peter Doyle together and with head sommelier, Franck Moreau, matching aromatic wines to each course.

Guests on the night hailed from all sectors of the fragrance industry for the annual celebration and charity auction. A highlight of the evening included the speech given by est. sommelier, Tristan Hollbeck, demonstrating the unique olfactory experience between fragrance, food and wine.

Both Edwina McCann, editor of Harper’s Bazaar, who hosted the night as MC, and auctioneer Justin Miller, art advisor, donated their time and expertise for the evening.

Michel-Henri Carriol, president of the Fragrance Foundation Australia and Trimex, praised his industry colleagues for their generosity in supporting the cause:

“Parfums Gourmands is a highlight in the fragrance industry’s social calendar. We all look forward to this opportunity to come together and celebrate fragrant wine and food in a prestigious venue such as est. Of course, to raise funds for our industry charity Look Good…Feel Better, is a fitting end for the evening,” said Mr Carriol.

The money was raised via a live auction and raffle of luxury personal and travel items donated by British Airways, Shangri-La Hotels, Tempo Travel, The Golden Door Health Retreat, Dior, Bally, Atout France, Chanel, Hydrogen Bikes, Collette Dinnigan, Establishment Hotel and est.

Experience New York as DKNY Launch Their First Australian Flagship Store



To celebrate the launch of the DKNY JEANS brand and the opening of their first flagship store in Australia (located on Level 2 of the new Westfield Pitt Street Development) the global brand will bring New York City to Sydney through a unique street experiential event activation on Thursday 11th, Friday 12th and Saturday13th November 2010 between12-3pm.
