Burberry goes Digital

 
 

Burberry streamed its Prorsum Womenswear Autumn Winter 2011 collection to its widest audience yet, live from a new venue in London’s Royal Park of Kensington Gardens. As part of 40 events, the show was streamed globally in Burberry flagship stores from Boston to Beijing, creating ‘buy from the runway’ in-store virtual trunk show events across 4 continents.

The 40th venue, London’s iconic Piccadilly Circus, streamed the show live onto the famous 32 metre digital screen viewed by an estimated 1.2 million people a week - a first for any brand.

The show can be viewed on demand online at Burberry.com as well as on news, fashion, music partner sites and through the iPhone and iPad. Viewers around the world are invited to buy the runway collection immediately after the show for one week, bringing the collection to consumers globally in 7 weeks.

In an industry first, viewers can download music tracks from the show through the on demand service at
Burberry.com using iTunes technology. Christopher Bailey, features on the home page of YouTube today under the Spotlight section, talking about the 6 videos that have inspired him in the lead up to the show. Videos include David Bailey, Barbara Hepworth, Adele, Dusty Springfield, The British Weather and Tim Berners-Lee
