“With this collection, I decided to create styles that matched a feeling that we all seek – whether it be happiness, courage, freedom, insight, possibility, devotion, tranquillity or fortune. There is certainly a style and a feeling that each of us can identify with,” says Rayna, the brains behind the established Holiday brand as well as the new Talisman label.
Each garment has a bracelet attached with its own Talisman, and its own special meaning. “‘Happiness’ is depicted by the Chinese symbol for joy, ‘Freedom’ by a bird, ‘Courage’ by the African stamp for bravery and so on,” explains Rayna.
All of the fabrics used in the range are hand printed in India, making each piece subtly unique. The printed fabrics are cotton voile, while the plains are cotton gauze, making each piece beautifully light and perfect for balmy summer days.
“The range has a broad appeal – while some styles, such as ‘Freedom’, will appeal to a younger market, ‘Insight’ was designed with the more experienced world traveller in mind.”
